This the official dedicated webpage for the SIESTA school in East Africa for the year 2021. You will find herein all communication regarding the school´s activities. For any inquiries, please write to the organizers on siesta2021@tukenya.ac.ke

Please note that the time given in the SCHEDULE of events is simply CET/CAT, add 1hr to get an equivalent EAT. The Schedule also contains some hyperlinks to the most important lectures and tutorials meant for this school. For the meetings, we encourage that you copy paste the passwords. Always log in with your official full names.

• Instructions to install the SIESTA mobile infrastructure to be used in the school:-
  • 1. The first thing to do is to download the virtual machine (SIESTA mobile) here
  • 2. Then, go here and install virtual box (version 6.1 or later).
  • 3. Open virtual box, and Click on File and then Import appliance, Select the OVA that you downloaded in point 1 above.
  • 4. Then, if you click on Run, Siesta mobile should start running. It takes the appearance of a Desktop of a machine with LINUX distribution.
  • 5. To clone the repository that contains all the exercises that will be run during the hands on sessions:
    • Open a terminal in the virtual machine and type:
      • $ git clone https://gitlab.com/jjunquer/siesta-docs.git
      • $ cd siesta-docs
      • $ cd work-files
      • $ sh link.sh
